Tampa Bay Tech Wrestling has become an official club of the AAU.

The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) is an amateur sports organization based in the United States. A multi-sport organization, the AAU is dedicated exclusively to the promotion and development of amateur sports and physical fitness programs. It claims to have over 670,000 participants and over 100,000 volunteers.

The benefits of joining the AAU; allows our athletes to participate, train, and compete in and out of the district season. There are several events locally, state, and nationally that they can attend. To become a paid member or to find out more information, visit:

Hillsborough County Public Schools requires all high school students to maintain a 2.0 GPA in order to compete and athletic insurance is required. The current amount to participate for the 2018-2019 school year is $40.00

Students or parents may pay this on-line at or bring a $40.00 money order to their coach or the athletic secretary at TBT.

This IS required by the state in order to participate in any sport. For more questions please contact our APA secretary; Denise Garcia @ TBT (813) 744-8360 x351

The only wrestling gear we require on the team is for the athlete to purchase their own wrestling shoes. These can be purchased on-line or in stores such as Dick's Sporting Goods.
